Babi Badalov, De More Cry Sea

Galerie Jérôme Poggi is pleased to present the second monographic exhibition dedicated to the Azeri artist and poet Babi Badalov (Lerik, 1959).

“De More Cry Sea” will present his latest works on fabric in the continuity of his work of ornamental poetry, as well as a reconstitution of alcoves gathering a corpus of older sculptural and pictorial works, archives and objects that accompany the artist in his creative process.

In a second phase, the exhibition is renewed to include a carte blanche addressed by Babi Badalov to the artist Nikita Kadan.

Nikita Kadan (Kiev, 1982), a figure of the new generation of Ukrainian artists, has been invited by Babi Badalov and the curator Sasha Pevak to create a dialogue between his work and the exhibition De More Cry Sea. Particularly visible in recent years on the international art scene (Venice Biennale, 2011 and 2013), Nikita Kadan is currently enjoying a solo exhibition at M KHA in Antwerp, until April 29, 2018.
