The Armory Show 2019

For its fourth participation to the Armory Show, Jérôme Poggi gallery is pleased to dedicate its booth to an exclusive solo show by Kapwani Kiwanga (1978, CA).
Winner of the prestigious Sobey Art Award last November, the artist will propose a project thought around the notion of control and surveillance. In the center of the booth will be held a monumental installation inspired by colonial architecture that critically reflects on surveillance systems within current societies.
Her reflexion will be extended by different others artworks realised this past few years such as the Greenbook series or new pieces of the series Shade playing with the reveling and occulting by using a specific agricultural fabric – series started on the occasion of the Frieze Artist award she won last year.
