Since 2009 the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw has held the annual festival Warsaw Under Construction, an exhibition plus numerous events devoted to urban planning. The idea for the festival was drawn from the need to understand the changes underway in the capital, and from the intuition that public space can be improved. This year the theme of the festival is the history of the center of Warsaw, where the museum’s own building stands, and along with it, the history of the museum itself, which is inextricably intertwined with this site.
