Nikita Kadan, “Perspectives on war in Ukraine”
Nikita Kadan had already testified from his gallery in besieged Kyiv last March, at the assembly in solidarity with Ukraine organized by the Centre Pompidou. “Visibility can save lives” he said at the time.
He chose to stay in Ukraine and continue to imagine works : “My work consists in not closing my eyes”. From his window, he also filmed, documented and captured the war unfolding before his eyes.
For the festival “Hors Pistes”, he will present this collection of images and testify against all forms of oppression.
His intervention will be in Ukrainian with consecutive translation.
It will be possible to visit the Ukrainian rooms in the permanent collections of the National Museum of Modern Art, including a room dedicated to Nikita Kadan and the REP collective he founded in 2014.
