Sidival Fila, “Sindoni”

Sidival Fila’s “Sindoni” exhibition at the Lateran Baptistery in Rome brings together 8 works around the baptismal font.

The paintings were made from fabrics and floral elements dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. They are carefully restored linings of dalmatics used in the liturgy, laid on cotton fabrics. Plexiglass mirror plates will then be installed on the back of the canvases to visually illuminate the works when they are hung in the center of the Baptistery, reflecting the fabrics as if they were windows to infinite and undefined spaces.
